2013 Runs

 

 

Chimney Fire


Feb 27th - Co56 along with 1st alarm were alerted to 21767 Great Cove Road for a chimney fire. C56 along with E2-56, T56 & Tr56 arrived to find light smoke coming from the chimney. After investigating, personnel found fire contained to the flu and the box was held to E2-56. Crews worked in containment and running chains. E2-56 returned.

                
Chimney Fire


Feb 24th - Co56 along with 1st alarm were alerted to 205 S. 7th St in the Boro for a chimney fire. C56 & E1-56 arrived to find nothing evident from exterior. Upon investigation found light smoke condtions inside and fire contained to the flue. Command held the box to the Engine. Crews worked in ventilation and running chains down the chimney. E1-56 returned within an hour.

                   

Mobile Home Fire

Feb 14th - Co56 with the 1st alarm were dispatched to 138 Chainsaw Dr at 02:21. E2-56 and C2-56 arrived to find a single wide mobile home with fire in an addition. E2-56 laid supply line up the lane and placed two handlines in service. The fire was contained within 30 min. T56 supplied E2-56. E1-55 & WC5 were on scene assisting.


Shed Fire


Feb 13th - E2-56, T56 & E1-55 operated on a shed fire at 15753 Great Cove Road at 15:50. Personnel found a tractor on fire inside the shed. A hand line was placed in service and the fire was contained to the tractor with minor extension into the shed. T56 supplied E2-56 and E1-55 provided manpower. Units returned within an hour.

                

Possible House Fire


Feb 12th - Co56 along with the 2st alarm assignment were sent to the rear of 24462 Great Cove Road in Todd Twp at 17:55 for a possible house fire. E1-56 & C1-56 arrived to find a larged controlled burn, no FD services need. C1-56 placed the box in service.


Land Rescue


Feb 7th - Ranger 56 was alerted to assist Co18 with a land rescue at 2000 Bear Valley Road at 18:02. Brush 2-56 & Ranger 56 arrived and staged to be placed in service a short time later.

Vehicle Fire


Jan 31st - Tanker 56 dispatched to 8328 Great Cove Road at 07:03 for a large vehicle fire. Tanker 56 responded and was cancelled immediately by Command 55.

Elevator Rescue


Jan 29th - E1-56 & A3-56 on scene at 121 North 2nd St. in the Boro at 08:12 for an elevator rescue. Personnel found the elevator stuck just above the 1st floor. The victim was extricated within minutes. Co56 returned.


Chimney Fire


Jan 25th - E2-56 & T56 responded to 5050 Sipes Mill Road in Belfast Twp at 10:22 to assist Co55 with a chimney fire. Co56 was placed in service while enoute.

Chimney Fire

Jan 23rd - Engine, Truck & Tanker 56 were alerted to 502 Forbes Trail Road in Dublin Twp at 17:07 for a chimney fire. E2-56 and T56 arrived and assisted 57 with operations. Truck 56 was cancelled enroute. Co56 returned within an hour.


Chimney Fire

Jan 21st - Tanker 56 was alerted to assist Co57 on a chimney fire at 874 Frick Rd  at 10:54. Tanker 56 responded and due to adverse road conditions, was advised to stage. Tanker 56 was placed in service shortly after.



MVA w/ Confinement


Jan 20th - Engine, Ambulance & Medic 56 were alerted to Lincoln Highwya & Jamie Road for an auto accident with rollover and possible entrapment at 07:51. C56 arrived finding one auto on its roof with one occupant confined. E1-56 arrived, stabilized the vehicle and began extricaton. The patient was able to be removed within 10 minutes of arrival and care transferred to EMS. E1-56 remained for traffic control until the vehicle was removed.


                   

House Fire & Transfer


Jan 18th - Tanker 56 was sent to assist Co55 at 440 Cedar Flats Road at 14:32 for the house fire. Tanker 56 responded with 6 and was placed in service while enoute. Shortly after, E2-56 transferred to 55's quarters while they operated on scene. No calls were handled during the transfer.



Elevator Rescue


Jan 14th - E1-56 & A3-56 responded to 104 Myers Ave at 17:50 for an elevator rescue. E1-56 arrived finding the elevator to be stuck between the 1st & 2nd floors. Personnel made access to the victim within minutes and turned over to EMS for evaluations. Personnel placed the elevator OOS until a technician could be sent out. Co56 returned available.


Auto Accident


Jan 12th - Engine & Ambulance 56 were dispatche to Lincoln Highway and Patterson Run Road at 20:30 for an auto accident. E1-56 & EMS arrived to find one auto blocking the west bound lane with 2 minor injuries. Crews packaged patients and contained hazards. E1-56 remained to supply lighting until the vehicle was removed and returned available.



Chimney Fire


Jan 6th - Co56 along with 1st alarm assignment were sent to 809 Rock Hill Road at 20:41 for a chimney fire. E1-56 and C56 arrived finding a 2 story dwelling with nothing evident. Upon further investigation, found fire to be contained to the flue. C56 held the box to 56 and returned the rest. Crews found negative extension. Units returned with a half hour.


Transfer

Jan 3rd - E2-56 & A1-56 transferred with 5 to Franklin Co 9's house while they operated on a house fire on Kuhn Road. No calls were handled during the transfer.

Car Fire Next to a House

Jan 2nd - Co 56 was dispatched to 297 North Crystal Drive in Todd Township for a car fire next to a house. E1-56 & T56 responded and arrived with C56 finding one auto with the fire out in the driveway. Crews wet down the engine compartment and returned.


                   


Transformer Explosion

Dec 27th - Brush 56 was alerted to 1748 LWW for a transformer fire. Brush 2-56 arrived to find a small fire already out at the base of the pole with a power outage in the area. Command made proper notification and returned.


Mutual Aid - Chimney Fire

Dec 25th - Engine 2-56, Tanker 56 and Truck 56 responded to 3887 Great Cove Road in Bethel Twp for a second chimney fire. While enroute, E2-55 arrived with the fire contained to the chimney and held E2-56. The Engine arrived to assist. Units returned in about 45 min.
               
Truck on Chimney Fire

Dec 25th - Truck 56 was dispatched to replace Truck 55 on the chimney fire at 1871 Black Oak Road Bethel Twp. Truck 56 responded with 5 and arrived to stage. The Truck was released shortly after to respond on a second chimney fire 10 miles away.

MVA

Dec 20th - Engine 1-56 and Ambulance 2-56 responded to 6235 Aughwick Road in the area of Cowans Gap for an auto accident. Chief 56 arrived finding one auto into a ditch with one occupant class 3. Units arrived and worked securing the vehicle and in patient packaging. Units returned a short time later.

              

House Fire

Dec 20th - Engine 2-56 & Tanker 56 responded a little after midnight with 9 to 697 Fieldstoe Road in Belfast Twp for a reported chimney fire with possible extension. First arriving 55 units found the road to be inaccessible due to ice and requested the Township to assist. Brush 55 proceeded back and found the house to be well off and requested additional brush units to assist. Belfast Township arrived and cleared the road. Bedford County Engine 40 (4wd) arrived and was utilized as attack piece. Tanker 56 filled several brush trucks. Co 56 returned at 4am.


Chimney Fire

Dec 18th - Engine, Tanker & Truck 56 were dispatched with the 1st alarm assignment to 11562 Sipes Mill Road for a chimney fire. E1-56 & E1-55 arrived with C1-56 to find fire in the flue. Crews from 55 went to the roof while E1-56's crew checked for extension and was negative. Crews worked in containment. Command held E1-56 and 1-55. Units operated for approx. 45 min before being released.


Auto Accident

Dec 9th - Engine, Ambulance & Medic 56 were alerted to Great Cove Road and Lincoln Highway for an auto accident. C56 arrived finding a tractor trailer vs an auto. One class 2 patient. Engine's crew assisted with patient packaging and containing any hazards. E1-56 remained to assist with traffic control until the vehicle was removed from the roadway.

 
Auto Fire

Nov 23rd - E1-56 responded with 4 to Lincoln Way West in the area of Brooklyn Drive for a car fire. E1-56 arrived finding one auto involved with no exposures. A hand line was pulled and the fire was contained. E1-56 returned within 30 minutes.

Assist to Co 9

Nov 19th - Engine & Tanker 56 were dispatched to the boro of Mercersburg on Main Street for a reported house fire. First arriving units found possible chimney fire with extension. E1-56 arrived and was directed to stage in the adjacent parking lot and establish exterior and interior lighting. Crews assisted in checking for extension. Tanker 56 staged on the scene. All units returned once released.

Field Fire

Nov 19th - Co 56 was dispatched to Great Cove Road in Ayr Twp for a field fire. Brush 1 & 2-56 and E2-56 responded and arrived to confirm dispatch. B1-56 utilized the spray bar to knock down the perimeter and B2-56 hit anything missed. Units operated for aprox. an hour before going in service.

 
Smoke in a House

Nov 19th - Co 56 along with the rest of the first alarm assignment was dispatched to 314 North Second Street in the boro for smoke in a house. C56 arrived to find light smoke conditions on division 1. Crews checked and found the source to be a malfunctioning furnace. The box was held to Co 56. The furnace was placed oos and the residence was ventilated. EMS transported one for smoke inhalation. Co 56 returned shortly after.

Woods Fire

Nov 15th - Brushes 1 & 2-56 were alerted to assist Co 9 on a woods fire on Aughwick Road. C56 arrived to find a wooded area involved and moving quickly. Brush 9 and 1-56 arrived and contained it. Units remained on scene until mop up was completed and was released.

 

FIRE PREVENTION WEEK

Company 56 hosted its annual fire prevention week with smokey the bear. Visiting numerous locations to help teach local youths of the importance of fire safety. Ending of the week with a fire hall open house with fire truck rides through town with smokey the bear, moon bounce for the kids and a visit from Life Net 8-1.

Oct.10TH

 

Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to the intersection of Lincoln Highway and Lincoln Way East for a motor vehicle accident Todd Twp, box 256-01. Chief 56 arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles on the roadway. Engine crews sustained the fluids. Ambulance crews checked for an injuries and transported 2 patients to FCMC. Company 56 available shortly later.




MVA

Oct. 3rd

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to 15856 Great Cove Rd for a motor vehicle accident, Ayr Twp 156-02 Box. Chief 56 arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles off the roadway. Engine 156, Amb 356 & 456 worked together to get a patient out of one of the vehicles. Amb 456 transported one patient to FCMC. Chief 56 placed box in service a short time later.





AUTO VS TRACTOR

Sept. 26th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to the intersection of S. 2nd St. and Maple St. for a motor vehicle accident Boro, box 56-01. Duty Chief 56 arrived on scene to find auto vs. tractor. Engine crews sustained the fluids. Ambulance crews checked for an injuries. Company 56 available shortly later.

Sept. 3nd

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to 6235 Aughwick Rd, Todd Twp. 256-02 Box for a motor vehicle accident. Chief 56 arrived on scene to find one auto off the road way with occupants still in the vehicle, with negative entrapment. Engine and Ambulance crews worked to package patients for transport. Two patients transported to the local hospital with one needing flown out. Company 56 was placed inservice a short time later.

Sept. 2nd

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to 6235 Aughwick Rd, Todd Twp. 256-02 Box for a motor vehicle accident. Chief 56 arrived on scene to find one auto off the road way with occupant still in the vehicle, with negative entrapment. Ambulance crews worked to package patient for transport. Chief 56 advised engine to setup landing zone at the intersection of Aughwick Rd. and Lincoln Highway. Patient was transported to trauma center via Life Net 8-1. Company 56 was placed inservice a short time later.



IMPROVEMENTS/NEW DRY HYDRANTS

Aug 30th
     
Company 56 would like to announce the imporvements made to the exsisting dry hydrant on Narrows Rd. in Knobbsville and the addition of a new dry hydrant on Peach Orchard Rd. located at the Bard Farm. We would like to thank Todd Township Supervisors and Stewart from TMS excavating  for their help and contributions with these upgrades to our area.




TRUCK FIRE 

Aug 17th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to 10827 Lincoln Highway, Licking Creek Twp. 356-03 Box for a truck fire. Chief 56 arrived on scene with a car fully involved. Engine 156, Tanker 56 and Ambulance 456. Crews from Engine 156 pulled 150 feet off the operaters side. Engine crews got a quick knockdown on the fire. Command 56 place the box in service shortly later.




MUTUAL AID: LANDING ZONE 

Aug 11th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched at 1732 hrs to Waterfall Rd, Dublin Twp Box 57-01 to set up a Landing Zone for Life Net 8-1. Company 56 available at 1821.




NEEDMORE'S PARADE

Aug 10th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems spent an evening at Needmore's Parade. Company 56 took 2 antiques 1931 and 1941, Engine 156, Tanker, Truck, Ranger, Brush 256, and Ambulance 256. All together, total of 20 personal.




PROPERTY DAMAGE

 

 

Aug. 9th

 

 Company 56 fire/EMS was dispatched at 0029 hrs to 8122 Black Bear Rd, Licking Creek Twp 356-01 Box for property damage. Chief 56 arrived on scene to find wires on roadway and damage to the porch. West Penn arrived on scene to clear the roadway. Company 56 was available at 0204 hrs.




MUTUAL AID: BARN FIRE

Aug. 5th

 

 Company 56 fire was dispatched at 2138 hrs to 4700 Fort Louden Rd, Peters Twp 9-18A Box for a barn fire. Engine 256, Tanker 56 and Truck 56 responded with a total of 9 personal. Engine 256 went to Park Ave in Mercersburg for fill site. Tanker 56 shuttled water and Truck 56 was on scene for 2 hrs and Engine 256 and Tanker 56 on scene for 5 1/2 hrs. Engine 157 transfered to Company 56 station until all units were available.

July 29th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems spent an evening at Shade Gap's Parade. Company 56 took 2 antiques 1931 and 1941, Engine 156, Tanker, Truck, Ranger, Brush 256, and Ambulance 256. All together, total of 25 personal.




CONTROL BURN

July 24th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to the area of 8764 Lincoln Highway, Licking Creek Twp. 356-03 box for a control burn that was out of control. Engine 256 and Tanker 56 arrived on scene to find a build that being burned down by the contraction workers. The burn was under control. The Engine crew took the thremal camera to the house across the road to check if there was any heat in the walls. The siding was melted on the house because of the heat across from the road. Chief 56 placed box in service shortly later.


AUTO ACCIDENT

July 23th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to 55830 Lincoln Highway, Licking Creek Twp. 356-03 box for an auto accident. Chief 56, Ambulance, 456 and Engine 156 arrived on scene to find 1 vehicle off the roadway in the bushes. Chief 56 placed box in service shortly later.



CAR FIRE

July 22nd

 

 Company 56 fire/ems was dispatched to 18734 Lincoln Highway, Ayr Twp. 156-01 Box for a car fire. Chief 56 arrived on scene with a car fully involved. Engine 256, Tanker 56 and Ambulance 456. Crews from Engine 256 pulled 200 feet off the officers side. Engine crews got a quick knockdown on the fire. Command 56 place the box in service shortly later.

July 17th

 

 Company 56 and Instructor Jim Stone spent an eveing training on Water Supply and Pump Connection out at the Dry Hydrant at Knobsville with Engines 1 & 256, Tanker 56 and Truck 56.



TRUCK FIRE

July 17th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1238 hrs. To 515 McGoverns Ln. Todd Twp 256-01 box for a truck fire. Chief 56 arrived on scene to find the truck completely well off. The truck was approx. 10 feet away from the house, the homeowner was able to push the truck approx. 50 feet away from the house before the units got there. When Engine 156 got on scene they pulled 200 feet of hose off the officers side. Tanker 56 supplied water to Engine 156. Engine crews got a quick knockdown on the fire. Command 56 placed box in service a short time later.





AUTO ACCIDENT

July 8th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1155 hrs. To 19376 Great Cove Rd. Ayr Twp 156-01 box for an auto accident. Chief 56 and Engine 156 arrived onscene to find a dump truck on its side. Crews from engine 156 checked to fluids and cleaned roadway. One patient transported to Fulton County Medical Center were Life Lion of Carlisle was going to meet up with them. Penn Dot arrived on scene along with state police. Chief 56 placed company in service shortly time later.


AUTO ACCIDENTS BACK TO BACK

July 5th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1047 hrs. To the intersection of Great Cove Rd and Knobsville Rd for an auto accident. Todd Twp 256-01 box. Engine 156, Chief 356, Amb 256 and Medic 156 arrived onscene to find 3 vehicles, roadway blocked with debris. Crews from engine 156, helped ambulance 256 and amb 357. While this accident was going on at 1057 hrs, Utility 56 came upon another mva at the intersection of Great Cove Rd and Pheasant Trl. Ln. Todd Twp 256-01 box. Chief 56 arrived onscene to find 2 vehicles north side blocked. Chief 56 called for Medic 156 and Medic 60 to scene and requested Air Medical to scene as well. Crews from Brush 156 crews helped Amb 456 with getting the patient out of vehicle. Life Net 8-1 landed at scene. The first accident scene cleared roadway and went in service at 1129 hrs. Engine 156 came to the second accident to clean roadway up. The second accident scene was placed in service at 1145 hrs.



AUTO ACCIDENT

June 27th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1615 hrs. To 1350 Lincoln WY E. Todd Twp 256-01 box for an auto accident. Chief 56 arrived onscene to find 1 vehicle in the woods. Crews from engine 156, helped ambulance 456 with one of the patient. Engine 156 found 1 telephone poles damaged and reported it to the police officer. Chief 56 placed company in service shortly time later.




AUTO ACCIDENT

June 19th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 0441 hrs. To 11800 Aughwick Rd. Dublin Twp 57-03 for an auto accident. Chief 56 arrived onscene to find 2 vehicles, roadway blocked. Crews from engine 156, helped ambulance 456 with one of the patient. Chief 56 called for 2 more ambulances from 57 and medic 156. Ambulance 456 and medic 156 transported one patient to Chambersburg Hostpital from there the patient got flown to Hershey Medical Center. Ambulance 356 transported 2 patients to FCMC and ambulance 157 had 2 refuseals. Engine crew cleaned up the roadway and in service shortly time later.




MUTAL AID: VEHICLE FIRE POST ACCIDENT

May 7th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 0122 hrs. To Pump Station Rd. Licking Creek Twp 357-01 for an auto accident with fire. Chief 457 arrived onscene confirming dispatch advised no occupants in area.  Engine 156 and Chief 56 arrived onscene, engine crews put one attack line inservice with assistance from Eng Co. 57 fire was contained and extinguished.  Both engine crews remained onscene for clean up and debris removal. Command 57 placed Company 56 units inservice at 0234hrs.   



MUTAL AID: HANGLIDER STUCK IN TREE

May 4th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 1457 hrs. To Mountian House Rd and Hess Rd. Taylor Twp 157-03 for a hanglider stuck in a tree. Chief 157 arrived onscene confirming dispatch, Engine 257 and Brush 57 crews made a path through the woods to get to the patient. Company 57 crews was able to get the patient out of the tree. Truck 56 arrived onscene, Command 57 wanted the truck set up for removal of the hanglider out from the tree. Command 57 placed units inservice at 1628 hrs.   




AUTO ACCIDENT

April 27th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 0814 hrs. To the area of Great cove Rd and Whipporwill Ln. Ayr township 156-02 for an auto accident. Chief 56 arrived onscene advised incoming units mutiple vehicles roadway completely blocked. Engine crew assited ems with patient evaluations and debris removal units went inservice at 0935 hrs.   



FUEL SPILL

April 26th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1630 hrs. to 122 West Walnut St. Boro of McConnellsburg Box 56-01 for a Fuel Spill in a basement. Units arrived onscene with approximaly 250 gallons of fuel in basement. Crews worked to contain the spill. Local EMA and DEP were notified. Upon EMA's arrival units went inservice at 1757 hrs. 


TRUCK FIRE

April 26th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1440 hrs. To the area of Buchanan Trail and Water tank lane Ayr township 156-01 box for a pick up truck fire. Units arrived onscene to find one vehicle off the road way with the fire extinguished by a passing motorist. Crews checked vehicle for any further dangers units went inservice at 1500 hrs. 


MOUNTAIN FIRE

April 21st

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1615 to Great Cove Rd. in the area of Big Cove Tannery Rd. Ayr Township 156-02 Box for a mountain fire. Units arrived onscene with approx. 1 acre of undergrowth on mountain burning. With assistance from Forestry Department and Brush 55 fire was contained and extiguished. Units went inservice 1812. Thanks to Franklin County CO. 18 for the Brush and Engine transfer.




BRUSH FIRE

April 21st

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1347 hrs. To 13260 Sipes Mill Rd. For a brush fire licking creek township box 356-03. Headquarters advised the fire was endangering a barn. Units arrived onscene to find a small fire already extinguished by home owner. Command 56 held the box to Brush 156 to wet down the area. Units went inservice at 1414 hrs.



SHED FIRE

April 18th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1332hrs to 527 Crossroads Rd, Ayr Twp 156-01 box for a possible shed fire. Chief 56 arrived onscene with a working shed fire and adjacent structure well off. Engine 156 layed supply line up lane and put two attack lines in service. Fire took approx. 15 minutes to bring fire under control. Ems had one burn patient flown to Baltimore burn center. Big thanks to mutual aid companies for assistance Co. 55, Co. 57, Medic 60, and Franklin County Sta. 9. Units went inservice at 1636 hrs.

 



MUTAL AID: CHIMNEY FIRE

April 13th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 2258hrs to 969 Battle Ridge Rd, Dublin Twp 57-02 box for a chimney fire. Engine 256 and Tanker 56 arrived onscene and checked for any heat inside the residents by using the thermal imaging camera. Command 57 placed units available a short time later.




MUTAL AID: HAY BAILS ON FIRE

April 9th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 1125hrs to 29169 Great Cove Rd, Dublin Twp 57-01 box for hay bails on fire on a trailer. Tanker 56 arrived onscene and place a hand line in service. Command 57 placed units available a short time later.



"FAST" AT CO. 56
PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE

FAST: the companies preventive maintenance company spent Monday with a crew of 5 and went over the appararatus. This is a semi-annual visit. Co. 56 has entered into with this fine group. For further information see the address and contact on our photos.


 

NEW ROOF

R & R Roofing out of Shipppensburg has completed installing a new roof to the "ORIGINAL" fire hall.

The new addition was replaced two years ago with the anticipation that this will last another 10-15 years.


STOVE FIRE REPORTED OUT

April 9th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1103hrs to 306 Lincoln WY, Boro box 56-01 for a stove fire reported out. Engine 156, Tanker 56, and Ambulance 256 got onscene to find light smoke conditions in the appartment. Command 56 held the box to company 56 the rest in service. Engine crews checked for any extentions, none was found. Ambulance crews check the patient out. Command 56 placed box in service shortly later.



GARAGE FIRE IN HUSTONTOWN

April 5th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 1921hrs to 930 N Clear Ridge Rd Dublin Twp, box 57-01 for a garage fire. Engine 256, Tanker 56 and Truck 56 was dispatced with a total of 9 personnal. Engine 256 arrive onscene to help Company 57 with some overhaul. Tanker 56 staged at Company 57's station well Truck 56 went in service. Company 56 was available at 2004hrs.

April 5th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1616hrs to Lincoln HWY Licking Creek Twp, box 356-03. Chief 56 arried onscene to find a tractor trailer off the roadway up the truck run off. Engine crews used abosorbent sheets to abosorb the oil and fuel, and plug one of the fuel tanks that was busted. Ems crews transported to two patients to FCMC. Company 56 was available shortly later.




TRACTOR TRAILOR FIRE

April 2nd

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1506hrs to 18734 Lincoln HWY, Ayr Twp Box 156-01 for a tractor trailor fire. Chief 256 arrived onscene comfriming dispatch. Engine 156 and Tanker 56 arrived onscene, Engine 156 crews knocked the fire down. And Tanker 56 crews foamed the truck down. Company 56 crews cleaned up and went available shortly later.





MVA

March 28th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 1616hrs to Lincoln WY and N 3rd Street Boro, box 56-01. Engine 156 and Chief 356 arrived onscene to find 2 vehicles with no injuries. Engine crews removed debris from the roadway. Command 56 place the box avaliable short time later.



CHIMNEY FIRE

March 28th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 1121hrs to 9941 Waterfall Rd for a chimney fire. Dublin Township Box 57-01. Command 57 held Engine 157 and Engine 256, the rest in service. Engine 256 arrived onscene to assist Co. 57 with cleaning out the chimney. Units went avaliable short time later.



CHIMNEY FIRE

March 26th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 2013 hrs to 650 Back Run Rd for a chimney fire. Ayr Township Box 156-01. Units arrived onscene with heavy smoke and flames showing from the chimney. Crews worked to clear chimney from heavy blockage and ventilate the home. Thanks to Engine crew from CO.55 for assistance onscene and to CO. 57 for transfer.




MVA


March 18th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 1503hrs to 15908 Great Cove Rd. Ayr Twp. Box 156-02. Units arrived onscene to find one auto off the roadway negative injuries. Fire police remained onscene for traffic control units went inservice at 1519.



FUEL SPILL

March 17th

 

 Company 56 fire units were dispatched at 1229hrs to 8087 Big Cove Tannery Rd. Ayr Twp. Box 156-02. For a fuel spill endangering a water source. Engine 156 arrived onscene to find a leak from a fuel tank approximately 30-40 gallons of fuel leaked into nearby stream. County EMA and DEP was notified pigmates used to contain spill units went inservice 1312 hrs.





MVA

March 15th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 0922hrs to Ayr Twp. for an MVA Box 156-01. Fire and EMS units arrived on scene to find 1 vehicles on the roof with one patient. Fire crews checked for hazards and assisted EMS with patient packaging. EMS transported one patient to Chambersburg Hospital. Command placd the box in service a short time later.




Chimney Fire

March 13th

 

  Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 2259hs to Ayr Twp. 404 Back Run Rd for a chimney fire box 156-01. Engine 156 arrived on the scene to find a 2 story dwelling with heavy smoke from the chimney and smoke condition in the residence. Command held the box to Co.56 and TR55. Crews worked to free to chimney of all debris and and cleared the residence off smoke. Command placed the box in service 30 minutes later.



Mutual aid with Hustontown for MVA

March 11th

 

 Company 56 ems was alerted at 0654hrs to 4575 Breezy Point Rd, Dublin Twp. Box 57-01 for an MVA. Ambulance 3-56 arrived on scene with patient. Ambulance 3-56 transported patient to FCMC. Ambulace available shortly after.

 





Mutual aid to Franklin County for a Brush Fire

March 10th

 

 Company 56 was alerted at 1319hrs to 7160 Little Cove Rd, Franklin County Warren Twp. Box 9-56A for a brush fire. Chief 56 arrived onscene advised incoming units to a field fire approximatly 1 acre burning. Both brush 9 and brush 1-56 worked together to contained the fire. Brush 1-56 returned in service within an hour.

March 4th

 

 Company 56 units were alerted at 1438hrs to 536 Oak Ridged Drive for a control burn that had became out of control and was endangering adjacent structure. Units arrived onscene with minor heat and fire damage to a shed. Chief 56 held Brush 156 and Engine 256 placed rest of box inservice. Units cleared at 1603hrs.

MVA w/entrapment  

March 2nd

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 0040hrs to Licking Creek Twp. at the intersection of Lincoln HWY and Patterson Run Rd for MVA with rollover Box 356-01. Units arrived on scene, with one auto blocking the roadway. One patient still inside, crews worked to stabilize the vehicle. Extrication tools were used and a roof flap was done to extricate the patient. Extrication was completed in 10mins and fire crews assisted EMS with patient packaging.  Patient was flown from the scene by Lifenet 8-1. E156 remained on scene to assist PSP with scene lighting. Units available at 0210hrs.






MVA

March 1st

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1649hrs to Ayr Twp. at the entrance to Giant for an MVA Box 156-01. Fire and EMS units arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles off the roadway with one patient complaining of neck pain. Fire crews checked for hazards and assisted EMS with patient packaging. EMS transported one patient to FCMC. Command placd the box in service a short time later.

Chimney Fire

February 20th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 2311hs to Ayr Twp. 152 Horton Drive for a chimney fire box 156-01. Chief 56 arrived on the scene to find a 2 story dwelling with fire in the chimney and smoke condition in the residence. Command held the box to Co.56 E157 and T55. Crews worked to free to chimney of all debris and and cleared the residence off smoke. Command placed the box in service a short time later.





MVA

February 9th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1951hrs to Todd Twp. 21092 Great Cove Road for an MVA vehicle overturned box 256-01. Company 56 units arrived on scene to find one patient still in his vehicle with the vehicle on it's side. The engine crew stabilized the vehicle and assisted with patient packaging. EMS transported one patient to FCMC class 3. Command placed the box in service a short time later.

 



Chimney Fire

January 28th

 

Engine Company 56 was dispatched at 0959hrs to Franklin County Peter's Twp Box 9-56A for a chimney fire. E256 responded with a crew of 5. Arrived on scene to assist Co.9 with roof operations. E256 returned to service a short time later.




MVA

January 25th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched at 1338hrs to 135 Knobesville Road Todd Twp. Box 256-01 for an MVA. Units arrived on scene to find 2 vehicles blocking the northbound lane of 522 (Great Cove Rd). The engine crew assisted EMS with patient packaging as well as checked for and contained all hazards. EMS transported one class 2 patient and two class 3 patient's to FCMC. Command placed the box in service a short time later.





House Fire

January 24th

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units along with mutal aid departments were dispatched to 536 Oak Ridge Dr Licking Creek Twp. Box 356-03 for a chimney fire w/extension. Chief 56 arrived on scene to find a fully involved home. All occupants were out of the residence and was placed in Amb 256 to stay warm. Chief 56 requested 2nd alarm tankers for water supply due to the location. Units operated on scene for approx 3hrs. Co 18 transferred for Engine standby and Lack-Tuscarora EMS transferred for EMS standby.







MVA w/flyout

 January 22nd

 

 Company 56 fire/ems units were dispatched to 1 JLG Dr. in Ayr Twp Box 156-01 for an MVA. Units arrived on scene to find one vehicle of the roadway through a fence to rear of JLG.  Units arrived on scene to find one occupant unresponsive. Command 56 requested areomedical to the scene for one class 1 patient. Command placed in units in service a short time later.


 

Company 56 Awards Banquet

Company 56 members enjoyed a wonderful evening at the awards banquet. Co.56 would like to thank all those who attended. Special Thanks to the following companies for our transfer so we could enjoy the evening. Chimney Fire

January 11th

 

Company 56 along with other mutual aid departments were alerted at 1943hrs to the Borough of McConnellsburg Box 56-01 for a chimeny fire. Chief 56 arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the side of the chimeny pushing through the bricks. Command 56 held the box to E156 and TK 56. The fire was contained to the chimney area. Command placed the box in service at around 2130hrs.
