Rollover on Great Cove Road

 

Dec 30th - At 1311, E1-56, A1-56 and M56 responded to and auto accident at 20084 Great Cove Rd. Units arrived with a pole sheared off blocking both lanes. One patient was transported to FCMC. FP remained on scene while Co56 went available within 45 minutes.

 

 


MVA

 

Dec 29th - While on the fire scene, 56 was dispatched to Cito Rd and M&M Way for an auto accident with unknown injuries. BC40 was on standby at our station and responded along with C56, E2-56, A3-56, A1-56, and M56. Units arrived with 4 pts and flew 3 out. LZ was handled by E2-56.

 


House Fire

 

Dec 29th - At 1922 hrs, 56 units were alerted to 18734 LHW in Ayr Township for a house fire. C56 arrived finding the fully involved structure to be in Franklin County and requested Co9. E1-56 arrived, laid a 1000 feet of 5 inch, and put the initial knockdown. Crews from 56, 9, 18, Sta4, 55, 57, 3, 8, 11, 12, and other companies from Franklin County assisted in knockdown and overhaul. 56 units went in service at around 0200 hrs.


 

Co56 Announces Early Christmas Present

The New Tanker 56

Co56 officials have entered into an agreement with the Monroe Township Fire Company

to accept delivery of the tanker in February of '07.

The truck will be titled to the departments Relief Association upon final payment.

Accident with Entrapment

 

Dec 3rd - E1-56, A1-56, and M56 responded at around 0830 hrs to 3377 Aughwick Road in Todd Township for an auto accident with reported entrapment. While enroute, Headquarters advised the patient was not conscious or breathing and was possible class 4. Units arrived to confirm, and waited until the arrival of the coroner to extricate. Units went available in about an hour.

Auto Accident

 

Dec 2nd - Units responded at 1830 hrs to 22000 Great Cove Rd in Todd Twp for an auto vs a utility pole. Units arrived with a pole sheared off blocking both lanes. Two patients were transported to the FCMC by A1-56 class 2. Roadway was shut down for several hours with power outages. Units went available at 1900.

House Fire

 

Nov 30th - At 0940 hrs Co56 was alerted to Ayr Twp, in the 6000 Block of Cito Rd for a house fire. Units arrived with heavy smoke showing. 2nd alarm brought 55, 57, and FC ET-9. Dwelling sustained extensive fire and heat damage. Units remained on scene for approx. 2 hours with salvage and overhaul. Units cleared at 1121. At 1241, units were dispatched back out for a "rekindle". Units then remained on scene for another 2 hours before going in service. Cause of fire is under investigation by PSP Fire Marshall.


Cabin Fire

 

Thanksgiving Day - At around 2245 hrs, Co56 responded to 18734 LHW behind the Mountain House Restaurant for a cabin fire. C56 arrived with a well off structure and started 3 additional tankers. E1-56 arrived on scene with 6 and started exterior operations. After fire was extinguished, salvage and overhaul began. Units from 56, 57, 55, and FC9 were on scene. FC E18-1 transferred to our station. All units went in service at around 0130 hrs.

Accident with Ejection

 

 

 

Thanksgiving Day - At around 1300 hrs, 56 members' meals were interrupted for an auto accident north on Great Cove in Todd Twp. E1-56 / C-56 responded with 6 and arrived with one auto off the highway with a priority 1 patient. A1-56 and M56 transported to the FCMC due to STAT being unable to fly. Units returned to service at around 1415 hrs.

MVA on LHW

 

Nov 7th - E1-56, A2-56, and M56 were alerted to the west side of Scrub Ridge in Licking Creek Township for an auto accident. Units arrived with two vehicles involved partially blocking the roadway. The Engine's crews contained hazards before going available.

Field Fire

 

Nov 6th - At around 1100 hrs E1-56, T56, BR1-56 responded to Narrows Road for a field fire. Units arrived with a small area involved. Personnel extinguished the fire and went in service.

Auto Accident

 

Nov 1st - E1-56, A3-56, and M56 responded to Pump Station Rd and Lincoln HW for an auto accident at 0840 hrs. Units arrived with one auto into a ditch that had apparently rolled over. One Class 2 patient was transported to Bedford Memorial. Units went in service after containing hazards.

A 2nd Chimney Fire

 

Oct 26th - At around 2150 hrs, C56 received a call from 122 Long View Road for a chimney fire. Headquarters then dispatched at 2154. E1-56 & 2-56, T56, TR56, and A1-56 responded and arrived with smoke showing from the chimney. Crews cleaned the flu then went available with 22 personnel on scene.

 


Chimney Fire w/ Extension

 

 

 

Oct 24th - At approximately 0750 hrs, units from Co56, 55, and 57 were dispatched to 372 Creek Road, in Licking Creek Township,  for a chimney fire with possible extension. Units arrived with smoke showing. Crews cut holes in the wall and floor for extension. The Truck's crew cleaned the chimney, then units went in service.

2nd House Fire Within a Week

 

Oct 22nd - At around 2020 hrs Engine, Truck, Tanker, and Ambulance Co 56 were alerted to Chesnut Farm Lane for a house fire. While enroute, Headquarters advised units the house was on fire with everyone out. C56 arrived with smoke showing from the attic. E1-56 arrived seconds later with 6, and advanced a line up to the attic. The fire was knocked down quickly with minimal damage. All units went in service at around 2200 hrs.

Fully Involved House Fire

 

Oct 15th - At 1042 hrs, Co56 dumped the station for a house fire across from 150 Queens Lane in the 256-01 box. Personnel could see thick black smoke from McConnellsburg. Lt3-56 and C56 arrived on scene with a fully involved structure. E1-56 arrived with 6 and laid the 5 inch down the lane. Firefighters pulled off 1 3/4 hand lines along with the blitzfire and attacked the dwelling. Structural collapse occurred within 30 min with no injuries. Soon after the fire marshal arrived on scene, all units went in service. Co56 was assisted by 55, 57, FC 9 and 12, BC 32 and 40. 55 covered Co56 during the fire.

Auto Accident w/ Ejection

 

 

Sept 24th - E1-56, A1 and 2-56, and Medic 56 responded to the 24000 BLK of Great Cove Road at around 2030 hrs for an auto accident. C56 arrived on scene to confirm dispatch, also with ejection, a class 1 patient, the motor torn completely out of the vehicle on impact and the front axle thrown approx. 100 ft across the road. Stat Medevac was put in the air to be landed on scene in a field. As the LZ was set up, a search ensued for a possible second patient ejected to be later found to be a false report. After cleanup and diverting traffic from the scene, Company 56 went in service.

Back to Back

 

Sept 24th - At 0530 hrs Co56 personnel were awaken for a motor vehicle accident at 6135 Aughwick Rd in Todd Twp. C56 responded and advised headquarters to dispatch 57 also due to the location being on the Todd Twp and Dublin Twp line. C56 arrived on the scene at about the 9000 Blk in Dublin Twp to find an auto off the road with no one in or around the vehicle. Co56 went available in about 15 minutes. At around 1100 hrs 56 units were alerted to the 11000 Block of Lincoln Highway for another mva overturned. E1-56, A1 and 2-56, and M56 arrived with 2 pts confined, one class 3, and a patient refusal. The Engine's crew used the cutters to take the top off to extricate the patients. Personnel held traffic until the rollback left the scene then went in service.

Multiple Calls

 

Sept 23rd - At around 1100 hrs E1-56, A1-56, and M56 responded to 18734 LHW for an auto accident with one overturned. Units arrived with a pickup blocking both lanes on its side with one patient. Crews controlled traffic and contained fluids until the rollback arrived. While on scene, Medic 56 was alerted to FC in Warren Twp for a heart patient. About 2 minutes later, PSP came upon a 2nd auto accident at 1400 LWE. Units responded to find no injuries and went available.

Auto Accident w/ Ejection

 

Sept 17th - At around 0800 hrs E1-56, A1-56 and M56 were alerted to the 19000 Block of Great Cove Road for an auto accident with reported ejection. C56 arrived on scene to confirm the dispatch with an auto into a cornfield. The Engine crew assisted EMS with packaging and transported the patient to the FCMC. Units went in service within 30 mins.

Auto Accident

 

 

Aug 29th - At around 0730hrs E1-56, A2-56 and Medic 56 were alerted to the Rt 30 exit ramp onto 522 for an auto accident. Units arrived to find a pickup in the guard rails with a patient refusal. After debris removal, Co56 went back in service

Auto Overturned with Entrapment

 

 

 

Aug 27th - At 0639hrs Co56 units were alerted to 1400 Lincoln Way East for an auto accident overturned with entrapment. C56 arrived on the scene at 0642 to find a van on its side with a pt pinned. E1-56 arrived shortly after, stabilized and cribbed the vehicle. Crews made access to the patient through the back doors. Fire and EMS personnel packaged the class 1 patient and transported to the FCMC to later be taken by ground to Altoona Hospitol. Units went in service at 0720hrs.

Auto Accident

 

Aug 25th - Units were alerted to 633 LWE in the boro for an auto accident at around 1800hrs. E1-56 and A2-56 responded and arrived with a pickup into two parked cars. 56 went available after debris removal and one patient refusal.

E1-56 responded driver only and met the crew on scene who were working at the Fulton County Fair.

Brush Fire

 

Aug 19th - At 1153 hrs Co56 units were alerted to the intersection of Circle Drive and Lincoln HW for a brush fire. E2-56, Br1-56, T56, and A1-56 responded and arrived with the fire already out. Units went available at 1211 hrs.

Van Fire at the Mountain House

 

Aug 18th - E1-56 and A1-56 responded at 1026 hrs to 18734 LHW for a van fire. Units arrived on the scene to find the fire was out. Units went in service at 1041 hrs.

Tractor Trailer vs Pickup

 

Aug 10th - At around 1130 hrs E1-56, A1 and 2-56 responded to 18734 LHW for an auto accident. Units arrived with two vehicles involved blocking one lane. Co56 went available within 30 min.

House Fire in the Boro

 

Aug 4th - At 1121 hrs, 56 units were alerted to 128 E. Market St in the boro of McConnellsburg for a house fire. E1 & 2-56, T56, and TR56 responded and arrived with fire in the attic. (Heavy smoke could be seen from several blocks away.) Crews put a quick knockdown on the fire with extensive salvage and overhaul. The fire was contained to the attic with water damage to the rest of the structure. Cause of the fire was due to a heat gun removing paint from the house. Co56 cleared the scene at 1323 with 27 personnel along with crews from 57, 55, and FC9. Thanks to crews on A3-56 and Car9A for rehab.

 


Two Vehicle Auto Accident

 

Aug 1st - At 0700 hrs Co56 was alerted to the intersection of Great Cove and Back Run Rd for an auto accident. E1-56 responded with 4 along with A2-56 and arrived with two autos involved partially blocking the roadway. A2-56 transported two patients and after debris removal E1-56 went available.

July 25th - At 1030 hrs E1-56, A2-56, and M56 responded to the 24000 Blk of Great Cove Rd for an auto accident. Units arrived to find a pickup into a field with one patient. A2-56 transported the pt and units went available.

July 22nd - At around 1730 hrs E1-56 & A2-56 responded to 18734 LHW for an auto accident. Units arrived on the scene with one auto off the roadway. A2-56 transported one patient to the FCMC Class 3. Units cleared the scene within a half hour.

Lightning Strike on a House

 

July 18th - At 1605 hrs E1 and 2-56, T56 and A1-56 responded to 315 N. 1st St in the boro for a lightning strike on a dwelling. Units arrived with the chimney blown to pieces but no fire damage. Crews cleaned up the bricks and went available at 1635.

2nd Motorcycle Wreck on the Same Turn

 

July 16th - E1-56, A1 and 3-56 and M56 responded yet again to 18734 Lincoln HW for another motorcycle accident. Units arrived to find one class one patient and one class 3. Units went available at 1927.

Motorcycle Accident

 

 

July 15th - At 1342 hrs E1-56, Ambulance's 1 and 3-56, and M56 responded to 18734 LHW for a motorcycle accident. Headquarters advised units responding on the 156-01 Box that one patient did appear to be unconscious. Units arrived to find one motorcycle involved with one class 2 pt. Co.56 went available at 1400.

Car Fire

 

 

July 12th - At around 1100 hrs E1-56 and A2-56 responded to the parking lot of Cowans Gap State Park for an auto fire. Headquarters advised units responding the fire was in the engine compartment. Units arrived and made a quick knockdown. Company 56 went available at 1152.

Combine Fire

 

July 10th - At 1327 hrs Company 56 was alerted to Narrows Rd in Todd Twp for a combine fire in a field. E1-56 responded a hair over a minute and arrived on the scene with a full crew of 6 with a working fire. Crews quickly pulled two 1 3/4 in. hand lines and attacked both sides of the vehicle. The fire was out in minutes, but to prevent rekindle BR1-56 foamed the combine and surrounding areas. Units then went back in service.

July 6th - At approximately 1030 hrs E1-56 and A1-56 responded to the intersection of 2nd and Maple St for a two vehicle auto accident. Units arrived to clean up debris and transport one patient to the Medical Center
